What began as a night of unthinkable loss—two heroic Americans taken, and more lives threatened—became a turning point. In the darkness of that fateful evening in Benghazi, when the odds were overwhelming and death seemed certain, a different force rose up. It wasn’t just strength. It wasn’t just training. It was brotherhood.
Outnumbered but unyielding, warriors stood shoulder to shoulder, transforming tragedy into defiance. In that moment, the hunted became the hunters. A wolf awakened—a guardian at the door, fierce and unbreakable.
From that crucible of violence and sacrifice came something no enemy could predict: hope.
Founded by Mark “Oz” Geist, a survivor of that night, and his wife Krystal Geist, Shadow Warriors Project was created to support private military security contractors who operate in the shadows, risking everything in the world’s most dangerous places. Out of that mission, Her Warrior Heart was born—a Christ-centered retreat honoring the courageous women who stand beside our veterans, contractors, and first responders.
This isn’t just a story of war. It’s a story of healing, honor, and unwavering love.

Her Warrior Heart is a Christ centered retreat dedicated to honor and empower the selfless women who stand as pillars of strength beside our veterans, contractors and first responders. Through education, meaningful activities, and transformative workshops, we create a nurturing environment that fosters personal growth and connection. Our retreats provide a place where these courageous women can share their stories, gain valuable skills and build a supportive community of like-minded women.
On September 12th, 2012, our lives changed forever when my husband Mark Oz Geist was severely injured while protecting the CIA annex in Benghazi from a terror attack that killed Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty. Our family struggled financially, physically and emotionally but my faith and hope in God never wavered and because of His strength I was able to be that rock and that foundation that my husband and family needed to get us through.
